2019 Beekeepers School


The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers is hosting a Beekeeping for Beginners School.  The cost is $50 per Family.  The school consists of three Tuesday night classes, February 12, February 19 and February 26 from 7-9 pm at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe's in Farmville.  A hands-on session is tentatively planned for a date to be announced since it is weather-dependent. Next Club Meeting - March 5th


The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet Tuesday, March 5th at 7 pm at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe's in Farmville.  Sign-ups for the Bee School will be on a space available basis.  The speaker will be State Bee Inspector Jessica Driver.  Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome.  For more information call Mary Jane Morgan at 434-315-1433 or visit Facebook: 

2019 Beehive Distribution Program


The 2019 Beehive Distribution Program will be accepting application STARTING July 1st. In 2018, within days, the beehive distribution program was maximized and all funds were appropriated to the overwhelming response by beekeepers. PUT THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR AND APPLY ASAP on July 1st. More information to follow or attend our next meeting in Farmville. (2018 Information: )

Mission Statement


The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers Club is dedicated to supporting local beekeepers and educating the public about the role honey bees play in the region. The club hosts monthly meetings, a mentor program, and a yearly new beekeepers class to provide support to beekeepers. Monthly meetings are open to honey beekeepers and enthusiast alike.
